John Favreau’s “The Mandalorian” Revealed

So we have known for a while now that there has been a live action Star Wars television show in production. It will be only available through Disney’s new streaming service called Disney Play. Yesterday on Instagram John Favreau revealed that it would be called “The Mandalorian”and would focus on a lone gunfighter and his journey following the fall of the empire. The whole idea of this series is incredible, with a budget being around 100 million dollars per episode, you can expect something pretty amazing. I have complete faith in John Favreau and his talents.

Also a list of directors were announced for the series. These include Dave Filoni (Clone Wars, Rebels), Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) and Deborah Chow (Man in the High Castle). With a star studded crew like that, I mean you can't go wrong! There will be a total of 8 episode in the first season with a different director for each one.

Jason over at makingstarwars.net got some behind the scenes set photos. The images seem to be of a marketplace of some sort. There is also a massive black rock on set which has no clear purpose, but it could be Black Spire from Galaxy’s Edge. There is also a rumor that John Leguizamo has been cast to star in the film series. I can't wait until the series premieres next year and we finally get to see what all this hype is about!
