Anime Style ‘Star Wars’ Series In The Works!
With Star Wars Rebels coming to an end, Disney is preparing to launch a new television series based on events leading up to Star Wars The Force Awakens. This anime-inspired series has been given the title Star Wars Resistance. Dave Filoni has taken on the task of bringing this new series to life. The Star Wars series veteran responsible for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels stated, “The idea for Star Wars Resistance came out of my interest in World War II aircraft and fighter pilots.”
The series is going to focus on a young Resistance pilot named, Kazuda Xiono. This pilot is tasked with the dangerous mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. Not only will we meet this new character, but Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie will be voicing their Force Awakens characters. The main cast comprises of Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (East Enders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales), Jim Rash (Community) and Rachel Butera (Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time).
Star Wars Resistance is not set to release until fall of this year.
