Possible Time Jump from ‘Last Jedi’ to Episode IX?
In a recent interview with ‘Star Wars’ star, John Boyega, the Resistance Hero might have leaked a little extra information than intended. As we all know, the end of ‘Last Jedi’ left audiences with hundreds of questions. What’s going to happen to Princess Leia? How is the Resistance going to survive with only a handful of supporters? What is the First Order going to do without Supreme Leader Snoke? The list goes on and on.
Boyega was discussing Star Wars 9 beginning filming in July 2018. He stated, “I can’t wait to start shooting the next and final leg of the [Star Wars] franchise. The first step is growing out my hair, so you can wait for the trailer to see why.” Boyega was reluctant on releasing any more information about his statement, but we all know it takes one some months or even years to grow out hair. We may be looking at a few months to a few years’ time jump for the Episode 9 timeline.
Fans are beginning to speculate that with Carrie Fisher being deceased, and Star Wars producers being reluctant to recast Leia, that the beginning of the movie will begin with Leia’s funeral. Leaving Rey, Finn, and Poe as part of the last Resistance leadership. The last installment in the final Star Wars trilogy is set to release December 20th, 2019.
