Boba Fett Movie in the Works
On the eve of the world premier of Solo: A Star Wars Story, news broke from the Hollywood Reporter that Joseph Mangold will write and direct a new Star Wars film centered on Boba Fett. While it was previously rumored that SImon Kindberg, the writer and producer behind the X-Men films, would be behind the Boba Fett project, sources now claim that it will be Joseph Mangold who co-writes the script. Mangold and Kindberg are close, having previously worked on the well-received Logan film, though Lucasfilm and Disney will not officially confirm anything.
Boba Fett, the fierce bounty hunter and fan-favorite, was first introduced in 1980's Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, before returning for Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Though he had relatively limited screentime, his origins were revealed in the prequels as a subplot and his character was developed in comics, books, and animated series.
It also reported that Lucasfilm has plans for movies on a number of movies (including Obi-Wan Kenobi).
