Mark Hamill Has Never Met His Star Wars Mom!

Apparently, just like in the movies, Mark Hamill “Luke Skywalker” and Natalie Portman “Padme Amidala” have never actually met! Unfortunately, in the movies Padme dies while giving birth to Luke and Leia. Thus, the Skywalker twins never had the chance to meet their mother. It turns out Mark Hamill, AKA Luke Skywalker, has never met Natalie Portman; his on-screen mother.

Natalie, had recently celebrated a birthday and Mark retweeted a Happy Birthday tweet to her over the weekend and had to add, “Fun Fact: I’ve never met this woman.” You would think at some point these two would’ve had to cross paths somewhere amidst the ever-growing Star Wars franchise. Whether they would meet at a Comic-Con, a movie premiere, possibly even a talk show. Nope. The two have never met.

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Natalie replied to the tweet stating, “Mark, I’d love to meet you, where are you? Come over.” She did make a joke later on that Mark did not wish her a happy birthday in the tweet and remarked that it would be a good start.

So, who’s at fault here for the two never meeting? The “deceased” mother, the child with his head in the clouds, or Disney for not giving Natalie a ghost moment in the new movies… Hopefully the two will have some sort of family reunion at a future convention or talk show.
