Amy Hennig Speaks Out On The Cancellation Of The New Star Wars Game

Uncharted’s Amy Hennig attended a Gamelab conference in Barcelona. Informing fans that unfortunately, another Star Wars game bites the dust before production. There she revealed her thoughts about EA canceling Visceral’s Star Wars game.

Hennig was supposed to team up with Todd Stashwick and write a new story in the Star Wars universe. The game was set to take place between the time period of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back with a new character named “Dodger.” Dodger was intended to team up with other characters that were dealing with the aftermath of Alderaan’s destruction.

EA cancelled the production of the video game, and Hennig responded at the convention by saying, “There was quite a dilemma a few months ago about EA and this question of whether single-player games are ‘dead.’ What do you think about that?” Personally, I don’t think so. There are many gamers out there that enjoy single-player games that have great opportunities for multiplayer functions. A great example of a single-player game with multiplayer capabilities is Destiny.

Hennig also stated, “I don’t fault EA for that decision, as hard as it was personally for me. I understand the challenge. We have to come at this in different ways. I think its about portfolios of games at different price points that allow us to do more than just PUBG’s and Fortnites and Destiny Clones.” I feel that Star Wars fans would love a Star Wars game that is similar to the gameplay style of Destiny. I know I would.

Although this game has been cancelled. Another is set to release during the Holidays in 2019. This game is titled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Hopefully EA follows through with this game. I’m sure all fans would love to try a different game aside from Star Wars Battlefront. So exercise those thumbs and clean off your consoles. All Star Wars fans will be making jumps to lightspeed with their course set to the nearest GameStop in 2019 for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
