'Star Wars: Resistance' Details Revealed

Earlier this year, a new anime-inspired TV show was announced to be in the works, taking Place in the events which form the Resistance and lead up to The Force Awakens. Created by none other than the mastermind behind Clone Wars and Rebels, Dave Filoni, this series is much anticipated by fans of all ages.

The forthcoming Disney XD TV series was recently "teased" in France, at RDVDisney 2018, and fans were lucky enough to discover a fair amount of information and details about the show. Yakface tweeted a picture which debuts concept art for a number of characters around which the series will focus, including favorites such as Captain Phasma and Poe Dameron as well as new characters.

This art seems to contradict the earlier claims that the series will be "anime-inspired," though that term could cover a variety of different styles. Though fans should remember that the artwork could look very different once it is in motion and in its final form.

Another tweet from the event hints that Resistance will debut sometime in October, 2019:

@DauvinPauline “#StarWarsResistance, la nouvelle série animée de #LucasFilm arrivera en octobre sur #DisneyXD. Une série résolument tournée vers l’action et l’humour avec la forte présence de #BB8 . “ #RDVDisney2018 pic.twitter.com/rqN4pActul

The series will follow the main character Kazudo Xiono, who is a young pilot recruited by the Resistance to spy on the infamous First Order. The series will star Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (East Enders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Rachel Butera (Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), and Jim Rash (Community).

While details are slim as of now, these new reveals perhaps indicate more details are on the way, so stay tuned!
