Titans - Season 1 - Episode 5 (Review)
As the upward trend continues with this show, I’m continuously impressed with the show. I love the natural chemistry between raven and beast boy. In addition this episode the titans face off against the assassin family, while Robin begins training the team.
Up to this point, Robin kept his identity a secret from the other titans. But after training them, he reveals it out of necessity. On the topic of Robin, we get an early look at a potential Robin/star fire relationship forming. They shared not only a motel room, but also the bed. Then after sleeping together, Robin reveals some of his past to star fire, including how his darkness scares him.
But of course, my favorite titan couple has to be beast boy and raven. We get some looks at how close they truly are, even a bit of casual flirting. I feel like in this show, BB and raven have a much more two-sided from the start relationship, whereas in the animated series she pushed BB away out of fear of hurting him. I’m not really sure how I feel about it instantly blossoming, but I’ve always liked BB and Raven.
Out of all of this, I just can’t wait to finally get a look at raven’s father. For those of you who haven’t read the comics, I won’t state his name. But for those who have, they know it will be one hell of a ride! This episode definitely helped build up the hype for Ravens dad, and I love the direction they are taking this. With this, other than the first episode, this one has to be my favorite.
