13 Fanboy's Teaser Trailer Scared The S**t Out Of Me
The new 13 Fanboy Teaser Trailer is out from Deborah Voorhees herself and it was enough to pull me out of hiding as unfortunately guys, I've been devoting all my time to the new Podcast lately but I've been excited for this one for a while so I just couldn't help myself.
Now as most people know 13 Fanboy won't be a major release but it is now another Friday movie that goes hand and hand with the recent slew of quality fan film style movies that have defied logic with how good they have gotten. Not just because it's that much easier to shoot a great film these days with less due to technology if you got quality people behind that technology, but also because these people are putting fresh spins on a seemingly dead franchise because of these rights battles that seemingly won't end. So, instead of letting the Franchise lay dormant for years to come we have great films like 13 Fanboy, Friday the 13th Vengeance and Never Hike Alone to hold us over till Jason inevitably gets resurrected again.
13 Fanboy however has a very interesting premise, it's a movie in the vein of Friday the 13th from an actress from Part V herself (A New Beginning) that isn't about Jason but rather a quite deadly fan who grew up idolizing a Franchise that a lot of die hard Horror fans like myself did. It's refreshing to see a different spin on what it's like to grow up worshipping those films. I mean in today's culture especially, but even when I was growing up in the early 90's it was "don't let him watch those movies, you don't want a crazy kid do you?" "don't let him play those violent games, he'll start to act them out for all you know" you know, monkey see….monkey do but, it often really doesn't go that way does it? I mean look at me, I like to think I turned out fine. I mean, I'm not perfect but I'm not exactly a psychopath, and I'm sure chances are YOU the reader find yourself in a similar position but, let's face facts….
Someone much like from this trailer was a 13 Fanboy out there and watched it with a different kind of joy, they might not of acted on it but those demons were there, and I'm interested to see how all that shakes out on camera with a more than capable crew behind it and a few recognizable faces that can really set this movie apart from the other Friday efforts.
There is currently no release dates as of now for 13 Fanboy, but us over at Dewback will keep you posted and you can guarantee whatever that due date is, we'll all be checking it out whenever it premieres.
