Jason Lives Again! The Vengeance Crew Interviews
This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting some of the crew of the upcoming film Friday the 13th Vengeance. Before I talk about the interview I'd like to tell you a short story from Saturday. So I was sitting at the CJ Graham Q&A with my girlfriend listening to one of my favorite Jasons speak, he answered my question and shortly after pointed behind me and said that was Steve Dash’s grandson and daughter sitting behind me. So we finish the Q&A and head back down to the show floor. It comes time to interview Julia Valenti and Peter Anthony so we head up to Peter’s room. He greets us with a big smile and a firm handshake, I began to set up my camera equipment when he asks me if it's okay if Steve Dash’s family sits in for the interview. Of course I say yes and they came in shortly after that followed by Julia and the badass cosplayer Jordan Harvey. So we all sat down and started what would become the interview you see below.
We finished up the interview and Peter turns to me and hands me this Friday the 13th Vengeance hock. I’m completely blown away and fanboying so hard. I just kept telling myself to stay calm and act cool. I thanked him and started to put my equipment away. As I was doing that Steve’s daughter comes over and starts showing everyone these incredible personal photos of Steve and stuff from his career. It was so surreal to me that I got to see that stuff and I got to meet part of Steve’s family. To wrap up story time, I had one of the best time of my life and I made a memory that will stick with me forever.
So more about Friday the 13th Vengeance, the entire project is fan funded from a kickstarter. It is so much more than a fan film though. The film currently has Steve Dash & CJ Graham starring in it and believe me when I say the passion is there to create the most authentic product imaginable. These people are the real deal and will give us something that will and has already become a part of Friday the 13th history. Director Tom McLoughlin is involved with the project as a consultant so this will be about as close to a Part VI sequel as you will get. This project is going to be turning some heads.
I interviewed the actor Jason Brooks who is playing Jason Voorhees in the film. We go over most of the same questions we did in the first interview but with a few changes. You can listen to the audio from that interview below. I plan on continuing coverage of this film and having more interviews with the cast and crew.
