Book of Monsters  is one of the best homages to the 80s as you can get. Sparke and Butler work so well together, I will buy a ticket anytime there names are involved. Watching this movie brought me back to my roots. And this piece of Cinema is why I love horror and why I got into the business.

The special effects are great! And the creature design is unbelievable. But the story is where the meat of the movie is. I have watched time and time again a movie fail because there is no back bone to the movie. This is not the case for this one. Butler has one hell of an imagination and it shows. Sparke's style of directing is nothing short of RAMI.

The characters have such a unique chemistry, it sucks you right in.  Lyndsey Crain is a  female version Ash Williams. She is a unbelievable actress and I can’t wait to see what she does next. The rest of the cast . Michaela Longden, Lizzie Stanton, and Anna Dawson put in great performances.

If you are a fan of the 80s or Gore Cinema then this should be at the top of your list. Great Special Effects, and a great story = a great movie.  I can’t wait to see what they do next.
