D'Angelo Russell to the Warriors

Well just when you thought the Warriors were short an all star in Kevin Durant they get another one in D'Angelo Russell.

Now Russell is nowhere near the caliber of Superstar Durant is but this Lefty's game is nothing to scoff at. From his sick handles to rainbow Threes and Floaters I'm sure he'll fit right in with the Warriors and he'll have that raucous crowd going as crazy as ever.

The scary thing is he is only getting better. As good as he is already he's only going into Year 5 and he Increased his points by 6 ppg and had a career year in assists last year as well. Not to mention he took a what looked like dead in the water Nets team to the playoffs last year and put everyone on notice when they stole game 1 from Philly but of course these things evened out and it became pretty clear that D'Angelo was more than capable but the team around him wasn't.

I'd say he shouldn't run into that Problem in Oakland playing with 3 time Champs Curry, Thompson and Draymond. I expect him to get off to a rocky start the first 20 games learning he doesn't have to try to take over the game like he used to and how he has to pick his spots in the Warriors ball movement oriented offense, but once that process is out of the way he should hit the ground running and this team should be absolutely electrifying with your typical heat checks galore, cause D'Angelo can heat up in a hurry. Just ask the Kings when he led a furious rally on their home court dropping 27 points in the 4th Quarter.

Now it's a bit unclear what his role is in the offense just yet but I think it's safe to say he'll be getting plenty of reps at the SG position while they're waiting for Thompson to recover from his ACL injury he suffered last year in the playoffs. That should give Curry and Russell plenty of time to get properly acquainted as one of the best backcourts in the league, as they rip through nets till the other Splash brother returns at a new found position of SF. Klay might be a 2 guard but especially in this NBA we have today he will have no problem switching positions cause we are as close to positionless as we've ever been as a league

The Warriors also received former UConn star Shabazz Napier and Treveon Graham. I don't expect much from them but I wouldn't be surprised if Napier becomes more than just a throw in. He had one of if not his best years last year and we all know how he can knock it down from deep. Maybe he finally finds the niche we knew he was capable of finding in this knockdown shooter Warriors offense.

In the process the Warriors lost a fan favorite, one of their most reliable players and defender's and the guy that completed their "Death Lineup" Former Finals MVP Andre Iguodala. It'll be hard to see him go for Warriors fans I'm sure but he was getting older and some nagging injuries were catching up to him on the back end of his career.

D'Angelo Russell signed a 4 year $117 m dollar deal and he averaged 21.1 PPG/7.0 APG/3.4 RPG last year

Shabazz Napier averaged 9.4 PPG/2.6 APG/1.8 RPG last year

Treveon Graham averaged 5.3 PPG/3.1 RPG/1.0 APG last year.
